Charlottesville, Virginia                        10/21/08 FTJ’s youtube videos surpass 6000 complete downloads FTJ on YouTube Mountain States Cup Event # 3 for 2008 took place in Crested Butte Colorado. The FTJ crew was there in June to record the events in HD. After editing a short teaser in Final Cut Pro, Producer Jerry Martin decided to post the downhill portion on youtube as an experiment, “I wanted to see if we could ignite some interest in the show and see if the video would go viral .” After a week that 4 minute video has over 1400 complete downloads. “That’s really a small number compared to the weird stuff people record and post on youtube. Hockey fights and bear rescues get millions of hits every week, but for a mountain bike video 1400 in one week is pretty good.” said Martin. Three High Definition Camera crews shot the DH, XC, Super D and Chainless Race events as well as securing an exclusive interview with a second generation mountain biking legend. Post is being done at DiamondStar Productions in Boulder, Colorado with a state of the art Final Cut HD non-linear system. Resort Sports Network telecasting 15 Original Fat Tire Journals Local RSN affiliate CBTV10 is only one of the 28 regional networks currently telecasting the Original 15 Fat Tire Journals from the early1990s. RSN and the Producers of the Fat Tire Journal, Off The Front Productions have agreed to air those Original shows in rotation until November 2010. So watch for those FTJs on RSN.
