The Fat Tire Journal in High Definition
Initial video production for Show #16 began on June 19, 2008 in Crested Butte where three major cycling events converged in the Colorado town with a fabled past. 3 High Definition Camera crews shot the DH, XC, Super D and Chainless Race events as well as securing an exclusive interview with a second generation mountain biking legend. The HD show is still seeking additional telecast venues and all sponsorship levels.

Thousands of Cyclists
Ride The Rockies, Fat Tire Bike Week and the 4th stop on the Mountain States Cup, Crested Butte Mountain Resort's Wildflower Rush all in Crested Butte (Elevation 8885 ft.) from June 19th thru 23rd. Historic Elk Avenue and Mount Crested Butte embraced thousands of cycling enthusiasts. Restaurants, Wine Bars and Saloons provided the re-fueling and the entertainment as the locals mingled with strangers with a common passion. "I am Frenchy, and you are tuned to zee Fat Tire Journal in haitch-dee." Said a lycra clad elder statesmen with a thick French accent, "Zere is a lot hove bicycles! Yes?" Yes, there were bikes everywhere. It was fitting that the only real intersection in town "the four way stop" was under construction, for well deserved side walk and asphalt improvements, following the battering the area took from a record snowfall year of 425 inches. That made the trek from one side of town to the other, best negotiated by road bike, mountain bike or townie. Yes, there were bikes everywhere, and it seemed every conversation was either about riding conditions, riding locations, riding adventures or riding disasters. Crested Butte, it is heaven.

Resort Sports Network telecasting 15 Original Fat Tire Journals
Local RSN affiliate CBTV10 is only one of the 28 regional networks currently telecasting the Original 15 Fat Tire Journals from the early1990s. RSN and the Producers of the Fat Tire Journal, Off The Front Productions have agreed to air those Original shows in rotation until November 2010. So watch for those FTJs on RSN.
